Malaysia made history when RM250mil was raised for Tadau Energy in July, making it the world's first green SRI sukuk.
The endorsement of documents was witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi while Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak dropped by earlier for a group photograph with representatives from the two companies and the financial institutions.
Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili said Malaysia was able to boost solar energy's contribution towards power generation due to initiatives under the feed-in tariff mechanism, large-scale solar projects and net energy metering.
These initiatives are expected to help fulfill the country's commitments to reducing greenhouse gas emission in line with the Paris Agreement, he added.
